It was her child being diagnosed with multiple allergies more than two decades ago that was the catalyst for entrepreneur Alana Elliott to launch her own food company. Today, Libre Naturals makes snacks and cereals for people with food allergies and Celiac disease, and sells to customers in Canada and the United States through Amazon and its own website. The company also makes private label products, supplies distributors and sells directly to retail clients.

Elliott, a member of the Small Scale Food Processors’ Association (SSFPA), shares her lessons learned here.

SSFPA is a Bioenterprise Canada industry partner.
