Guelph/Halifax, 19 April 2023 – Bioenterprise Canada Corporation, Invest Nova Scotia, and Nova Scotia Innovation Hub are announcing the companies selected for their latest GreenShoots program intake. Each start-up receives up to $40,000 and business guidance from seasoned professionals to put their plans into action.
This is the sixth cohort for GreenShoots, an initiative launched in 2020 to support early-stage Nova Scotia companies focused on innovation in agriculture, food, bioproducts, clean technology, and related sectors.

Clean dyes grown by microorganisms found in nature to replace synthetics
Pividl Bioscience – Craig Jackson, Anirban Ghosh – Ingonish – $40,000
Technology that produces natural nanocarriers and bioactive products from plants and seaweed for use in agriculture
RFINE Biomass Solutions – Quinn Cavanagh, Gordon Neal – Halifax – $30,000
Technology to upcycle spent coffee grounds into food ingredients
