New partnership to accelerate food and agriculture innovation

Bioenterprise, SVG | THRIVE agree to strategic collaboration

Guelph ON/Los Gatos CA, 28 April 2021 – Food and agri-tech innovation in Canada is receiving a boost through a new strategic partnership between a Silicon Valley innovation leader and Bioenterprise,  Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine.

Bioenterprise and SVG Ventures | THRIVE, a leading agri-food innovation and investment platform headquartered in California, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to join forces to support growth in the agriculture and food industries.

“SVG Ventures | THRIVE is a known leader in the agri-food innovation and investment space and as Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine, Bioenterprise is looking forward to building this collaborative relationship to encourage growth in these sectors,” says Bioenterprise CEO Dave Smardon. “By working together, we can leverage our respective networks to support new investment opportunities for innovation.”

The two organizations will co-market events and programs through their respective networks and provinces. Bioenterprise will also serve as a source of applicants for THRIVE’s accelerator program and will work with SVG to support the THRIVE Canada accelerator program.
