General Description
The Membership Services Associate responsibilities will include supporting membership services, and other related aspects of members and partners engagement.
Reporting to the Manager of Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine, this position works closely with the Membership Services Lead, Membership Marketing Lead and Membership Relations Associate.

The position will require a self-starter who works well independently and as an active team member in a collaborative work environment. Due to the pandemic, this position will temporarily start as a remote working from home position and will transition into an in-office role. Expectation of 37.5-hour work week with standard vacation time. Appearance shall be in a professional, office-like attire.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Supporting national membership outreach efforts daily through email, webinars, members’ meetings, telephone calls, and other communications mechanisms as required
• Assisting in member services, including supporting the Membership Services Lead and partners (e.g., data entry, setting up calls and other administrative tasks)
• Managing and maintaining CRM system ensuring interested stakeholders are addressed and follow up is concluded in a timely fashion
• Meet with clients, alongside Innovation Advisors and/or the membership team, to take detailed notes and coordinate follow-up actions.
• Conduct due diligence work in terms of market, industry, programs and financial analysis for current and prospective members and partners of The Engine
• Sectors of focus include, but are not limited to: agriculture, agri-tech, agri-food, clean tech, and related sectors
• Support database development and maintenance initiatives through data input, knowledge transfer and reporting
• Participate in business development activities to enhance Bioenterprise’s presence, exposure, and engagement across Canada
• Developing and maintaining our Partnership Affiliate program
• Support Membership Services Lead with the coordination of internal resources and third parties and/or vendors for the successful execution of project(s)
• Communicating openly with colleagues and external stakeholders on a regular basis to develop positive member and stakeholder relations over the long-term
• Participate actively in strategic planning initiatives and team discussions
• Execute other responsibilities or tasks not yet defined but fitting to the role and its growth

Professional Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agriculture, agricultural sciences, agricultural business, environmental science or related fields
• Strong collaboration and communication skills (written & oral)
• Proficiency and adaptability with business-based computer programs (Microsoft Office applications, project management software, communication channel programs (Slack, MS Teams), etc.)
• Experience working with a member/customer relationship management database is an asset
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative mindset

Candidate Skills & Traits:
• Experience and/or exposure in the agri-food, agri-tech, clean tech and/or environmental sector
• Exceptional organizational skills and great attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal, communications skills (written & verbal) and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work across teams and work well within Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine network of members and partners
• Multitasking and administrative skills to manage several large- and small-scale activities
• Ability to learn and recall information at a fast pace
• Ability to manage a demanding workload and evolving set of tasks with minimal supervision
• Willingness to take on new challenges independently and in a team environment
• French is an asset
