Contract full-time (to April 2024)

The Marketing Specialist will provide support in marketing and communications, including, website, social media, newsletters, digital and content marketing. You’ll support and promote the Bioenterprise brand, including Funding Programs and Events, assisting with graphic design for marketing collateral.

As a Marketing Specialist you will:

  • Ensure a consistent look, style, and feel across all assets (logo, imagery, colours, templates, voice)
  • Update and keep materials to reflect messaging and positioning
  • Maintain marketing asset inventory
  • Manage content and calendar; create and repurpose content to improve SEO; maintain websites and social channels
  • Produce content for a variety of mediums, curating content for website pages, newsletters, and blogs
  • Collect and visualize data for reporting traffic analytics for web and social media, and other activity across multiple social channels to make recommendations based on KPIs
  • Assist with graphics and marketing collateral for events including webinars, office hours, conferences, career fairs, community engagement activities, and more

Our Ideal Candidate:

    • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Communications, or related program
    • Minimum 2 years experience in digital, social media, public relations and/or advertising
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and experience writing social media posts and long-form content
    • Strong working knowledge of WordPress, Constant Contact, Hootsuite and Microsoft Office 
    • A strong understanding of popular social media channels such as (but not limited to) TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter and how to effectively measure content performance on these channels 
    • Experience with analytics & reporting platforms such as Google Analytics 
    • Knowledge of search engine optimization, email marketing, lead generation, and other marketing methods
    • Experience with content creation and able to create social media graphics via platforms such as Canva
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
    • Strong video editing skills to create small interactive assets and repurpose existing assets
    • Must be a flexible, task-oriented self-starter
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required, and proficiency in French is an asset
    • Experience in a not-for-profit or accelerator/incubator environment is an asset
  • Interest or background in food and agriculture is considered an asset

  • Office Location: Guelph, ON (Free parking, near public transit)
  • Bioenterprise offers a flexible work environment. This role will include a mix of in-office and remote workdays.
