Bioenterprise Canada is hiring an Events Manager!

Our rapidly expanding not-for-profit firm is currently searching for an enthusiastic event manager with a “can-do” attitude to assist our organization in hosting and sponsoring events that enhance our organization’s image, improve client loyalty, and enhance our brand-to-client experience. The event manager will be tasked with researching and securing venues, planning, and managing our events calendar, negotiating quotes and agreements with vendors, assisting with event marketing, monitoring timeframes and budgets, networking, and delivering on event brief objectives. Your creativity, organizational skills, and vision will assist our organization in amplifying brand visibility, enhancing client and employee relations, and improve our organization’s growth through events that effectively communicate business strategy and brand personality.

The ideal candidate for this role should demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, superb interpersonal skills, multi-tasking skills, and excellent time-management. The noteworthy Event Manager should reinforce client-to-business relations, improve the organization’s image, and effectively deliver on event objectives.


About You:

You’ve been working in events management or related marketing for 5+ years and have experience in both the strategic and tactical aspects of identifying, planning, budgeting and executing various forms of events. You are looking to join a fast-paced, high growth organization and you want to be a part of something truly impactful. You are enthusiastic, curious, confident, adaptive and are not afraid to share your ideas. You love working collaboratively on projects, thrive in a team environment and are comfortable rolling up your sleeves get the job done.

Your Mission:

Your mission is to help build, retain, and develop Bioenterprise’s brand, visibility ad image, regionally, nationally, and internationally through our participation, sponsorship, and management of events. Bioenterprise has created Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine to be THE “Go To” organization for commercialization of new innovations in agriculture and food technologies in Canada. Your mission is to support that brand and objective.

Event Manager Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate, cooperate and communicate with the marketing team (including membership management, social media and partnership management)
  • Brainstorming and implementing event plans and concepts.
  • Handling budgeting and invoicing.
  • Liaising and negotiating with vendors.
  • Negotiating sponsorship deals.
  • Handling logistics.
  • Updating senior management.
  • Managing branding and communication.
  • Developing event feedback surveys.
  • Obtaining permits.
  • Handling post-event reports


Event Manager Requirements:
  • Degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or hospitality.
  • Proven experience as an event manager or event coordinator
  • Communication and marketing skills.
  • Skilled project management experience.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Highly Organized.
  • Multi-tasker.
  • Good time management.
  • Proficiency in various event software.
