Bioenterprise Corporation Poised to Open Offices in the Canadian Prairies

Using the successful collaborative model that Bioenterprise has demonstrated in Atlantic Canada, central Canada and British Columbia, and following the recent launch of the SmartGrowth program in southern Ontario, Bioenterprise is leveraging its forward momentum to establish innovation hubs across western Canada through key partnerships. These hubs will offer agri-tech and food-tech companies access to services, support, knowledge and expertise to help them connect, innovate and grow

Additionally, the hubs will offer access to Bioenterprise’s strategic partners, such as IBM, who are committed to working with Bioenterprise clients through technology, as well as support and investment services provided through Norton Rose Fulbright, MNP and others

In its 15+ years of proven national experience, Bioenterprise has helped Canadian agri & food businesses generate more than $268 million in revenues and attract $285 million in investment. Farm Credit Canada (FCC) has recognized Bioenterprise as an economic engine and has partnered with the organization to continue its highly impactful track record in the food and agriculture sector. Much of this success can be attributed to the company’s fundamental culture of collaboration, to be further realized with new partners in western Canada. Western Canada has a combination of a world class research institutes, a thriving start-up community and highly innovative established agri-businesses. It represents untapped opportunity to exponentially grow the sector and develop new global leaders in agriculture and food, an opportunity recognized by both FCC and Bioenterprise to support prairie-basedinnovation.

GrainViz and Myera in Manitoba and Semios, EnWave Corporation and Icicle Technologies in British Columbia recently took advantage of the services that Bioenterprise provides. Participating at evokeAg in Australia. Calgary resident and GrainViz Chief Revenue Officer Marco Hunstad highlights that Bioenterprise’s support and collaboration led to key strategic partnerships, new revenue accounts and 6 large commercial and farm locations for imaging installs which could result in $2M+ in revenue over the next 2 years. This is one example how Bioenterprise has supported high growth companies in Western Canada from start-up through scaling to high revenue, primarily through strategic partnerships that include critical knowledge and programs across the country

Now armed with a combination of private and public sector funding, Bioenterprise will spend the next few weeks identifying strategic partners to help drive Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine across the country, focusing on program co-delivery, resource sharing, and regional service provision. Potential partners must be food and agri-tech aligned, centrally connected to the western ecosystem in those sectors, and be committed to the scaling and growing of Canadian businesses with expertise and experience to support that commitment
