Warren Libby was raised on a dairy farm in southwestern Ontario and has been involved in agriculture his entire life, mainly within the Crop Protection industry. Warren worked over 27 years with Syngenta and its predecessor companies (Novartis and Ciba-Geigy) both in Canada and Europe. During that time he served as president of both Syngenta Canada and Novartis Crop Protection Canada.
In 2001 Warren left the security of multi-national life to acquire a 50% ownership in Engage Agro, and helped build Engage into Canada’s leading distributor of pesticides for specialty markets across the country.
As an entrepreneur in the agribusiness sector, Warren has been directly involved in the creation of several other companies including Engage Animal Health Corporation, Evergreen Bio-Ceuticals Inc., and Wellington Agribusiness Development Inc.
Most recently Warren launched The Savvy Farmer Inc., Canada’s only national web-based information service that provides farmers and industry professionals with a modern, searchable pesticide database for every pest and every crop grown in Canada.
Throughout his career Warren has been an active promoter and defender of the crop protection industry as (twice) Chairman of CropLife Canada, and is currently the Chairman of Bioenterprise Corporation, which specializes in helping agribusiness entrepreneurs at an early stage in their development cycle.
