Tom Dowler, Sr. Business Analyst

As Bioenterprise’s Senior Business Analyst, Tom Dowler is responsible for providing guidance and advice to entrepreneurs through various projects, including: business plan and executive summary critiques, strategic relationship development, market/industry research and competitive analysis, as well as public funding option identification.

Tom has experience working in both industry and not-for-profit corporations, focused on R&D, intellectual property protection and business development. Most recently, Dowler held the role of Business Development Officer at the Advanced Foods & Materials Network (AFMNet), where he was responsible for technology transfer and commercialization activity, the company IP portfolio, and a funding program focused on developing nutraceutical, functional food, and biomaterial based technologies. Prior to this, Tom worked at Topigen Pharmaceuticals based out of Montreal, where his focus was developing a technology for broad gene-targeting drug applications.

Tom’s experience in industry R&D, academic research, and his strong knowledge of intellectual property protection and agreements related to technology transfer activities, assists the Bioenterprise team in providing high-quality services to high-growth agri-tech companies.

Tom graduated from Queen’s University with a M.Sc. in Biochemistry with a specialization in Protein Structure & Function.
