Co-operative Education and Internships

The Co-operative Education program is a three-way partnership between the University/College, the post-secondary student and the Employer. The experience provides students the opportunity to integrate academic learning with paid work experience that alternates with study terms.

Bioenterprise works with a variety of colleges and universities to hire co-op students within the Technical Analyst, Marketing and Corporate Relationship platforms. These roles are posted through the co-op placement offices at Canadian schools.

Bioenterprise Corporation seeks a Strategic Partnerships Assistant

Bioenterprise Corporation is a business accelerator and commercialization agent, established to help promote the creation, growth and expansion of businesses engaged in agri-technologies.  Acting as coach and catalyst, Bioenterprise works with companies at all stages, from start-ups to emerging and well-established businesses.  Through our global network of industry contacts and professionals, we are able to assess the critical components needed to mitigate risks inherent in early stage business.  Bioenterprise works with researchers and entrepreneurs to solidify their results and move them toward commercialization. 

The Strategic Partnerships Assistant will work alongside the Program Manager, Corporate Relations to support the Bioenterprise Corporate Partnership and Membership Programs. S/he will be responsible for various tasks including gathering specific information on business opportunities, markets, regulations, intellectual property, costs and competition. S/he will be required to write business descriptions based on this research, which is aimed at a corporate audience, and work with the Analyst Team on activities related to strategic partnership development and relationship management. S/he will assist the Program Manager prepare program materials and related program activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Manager in preparing program materials, research and analysis, and related program activities
  • Help the Program Manager monitor, prepare and disseminate written and spoken communications across multiple media
  • Capture, process, and organize data and tasks to ensure effective management of information.

 

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be proactive and independent in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven strategic, analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to research and summarize complex information succinctly
  • Superior verbal and written skills, with experience in business writing
  • Understanding of corporate and operational business issues
  • Ability to understand markets analysis, competitive analysis, drivers and trends
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong team and customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of the agricultural technology sector would be considered an asset.

 

Education

Undergraduate degree in biological science, food science and nutrition, or related subject; or undergraduate degree in commerce either in progress or completed.
